JEWELRY CARE

How can I care for my jewelry?

For all plated items, it's best to remove your Imerelli jewelry when:

  • Bathing
  • Working out
  • Swimming in the pool or ocean
  • Putting on lotion, hairspray, perfume, or any other beauty products
  • Cleaning the house or using harsh chemicals

If the jewelry is exposed to any of the above, it is always best to dry the piece before storing to preserve quality/vibrancy. Always store your jewelry pieces individually, preferably in your Imerelli box or a pouch so that they don’t rub together, scratch or tangle. Particular care should be taken with gemstones to ensure that they do not knock against one another when stored. Imerelli is not responsible for the maintenance of your jewelry.

What material is the jewelry made of? - Meet our metals.

Each of our jewelry pieces are unique, for more details on each individual piece please check the description.

Sterling Silver Plated

Sterling Silver Jewelry - Sterling Silver is a mixture of pure silver and some other metal, usually copper. The resulting alloy gives the silver strength. The standard is at least 92.5% silver. Hence the .925 stamp you see on some of our sterling silver pieces.

18k Gold Vermail

Pronounced ‘ver-may’, it’s the design and durability you love without the pure gold price tag. Gold Vermail pieces start out as a sterling silver base (this is what gives them their weightier feel and high-end finish). A thick 3 microns of real gold is then layered over the top of the base through electrolysis (essentially an electrical current), to give each piece extra durability.

Stainless Steel Plated

Stainless steel is made of more durable metals, most importantly containing at least 10%-12% of chromium. The layer of chromium is what makes it stainless steel because it prevents oxidation, scratching or damage. Other metals may include titanium, nickel, and more. Stainless steel jewelry is highly durable, it does not tarnish or corrode. It is hypoallergenic as well, especially when plated. It does not stain the skin.

Why do you use Stainless Steel?

We love stainless steel because it doesn't harm the person making or wearing it & is corrosion resistant.

Brass Plated

Brass is an alloy of copper and zinc. We use brass for several reasons: it is malleable, hypoallergenic and very durable if treated with proper care. Brass jewelry has incredible tensile strength and will not break easily. When well-maintained, it can endure a lifetime of use.
